How to behave in raids

Be Prepared
The first point here should not really be a point, but guess it needs to be said. Be prepared, as in:
- have consumables
- be with the raid group inside the instance before 19:00 - if you are not your double DKP bonus will be removed.
- read up on bossfights
- read forum (its where we post important information)
- to your best ability make sure RL will not interrupt raids.
The last one can't be fully controlled, but to offen see people going afk during raids for stuff that could have been easily avoided.

Programs used in Rigor Mortis raids are
- Omen
- Deadly bossmods
- Ventrilo 3.0.1
Keep these updated at all times.

Ventrilo dicipline
We don't mind talk on vent, but there is a time for it and there is a time to shut up. We can have talk while we do trash, in fact a bit more talk on vent than we currently have would be just fine.

BUT SHUT UP during bossfights. Talk on vent during a bossfight can result in actual needed information getting lost and can be part of distracting people from what they should be doing. We do not need to hear calls for healing the tank or that you died, unless you have a vital job on the fight that someone else will need to take over. During bossfights the raid leader is allowed to talk, other than that only actual usefull information is allowed. And in case of usefull information it HAS TO BE short commands. No explaining, its distracting for everyone else, if you feel explaining is needed do it after the fight is over.

Play your own Character

Play as if everyone knows what to do, some people spend way to much time on what everone else is doing. I have yet to see this not affecting those people's own play in a negative way. In the case where you feel like giving someone a pointer to doing better, sure give a comment. But do not push it if the person does not seem interested, save it for after raid or bring it up with a officer if its something you see as a actual problem. We don't need fights breaking out during raid. No matter if you think its being helpfull, give a pointer once, if person not taking it save it for after raid.

AFK officer

During raids there will 1 officer is named as AFK officer. You have to report to this officer if you for any reason need to go AFK. If you have to go AFK you whisper the AFK officer how long and why. It's then up to him if you're allowed to go AFK or not. We do not accept people just leaving their comp during our raids.

If you go unannounced AFK (without having talked to the AFK officer) you will be fined 50 gold, that will be paid to the guild bank after the raid, no matter if you were only away for a minute.

Only go AFK if it's important and for you own golds sake talk to the AFK officer.

This also goes for people on standby. if you are not actually there for us to get a hold off you will lose your DKP and attendance for the raid. So contact the AFK officer if you need to leave comp.

Switching places
Its free for people to switch spots on some bossfights as long as you have basicly the same job. This is mostly done on farm runs where some people will allow others to take there spots on some bosses depending on who needs gear from there. This is handled between players then brougt to raid leader for a ok, if you are on standby you don't ask raid leader to switch you in on a certain fight where you need loot. You find a person who will switch with you then ask raider leader for a ok to do it.

A important point here is that the person who at start of raid got invited is in control here. If the person for instance is fine with switching for all of instance but the last boss, he will get his spot back for last boss. Also we have at times had people with higher rank think that they where allowed to force their way into raid from standby if they ended up there from for instance being late. Person invited at start of raid has the spot and decides if and for how many bosses he is willing to give it up.

In case you can't raid

If you aren't able to make it to a raid you have to post on forum. There is a topic for this in each job section -tank, healer, ranged and melee,

This has to be done everytime you are not able to attend a raid.

If you are away for a longer period of time you will post in the vacation topic:

Update:

Got myself an addon to track who puts down the "lovely" trains during raids.

If you are caught doing it from now you are deducted 50 DKP.
